Election Applications

The NWACUHO Board of Directors is made up of twelve officers: a President, President-Elect, Past-President, Communications Director, Treasurer, Products and Services Coordinator, Technology Director, and State and Provincial Representatives. 

The following positions are vacant:

Director: Alberta Rep (2 year term)

Position descriptions for all board of director positions are available on the executive board webpage. We would also strongly encourage you to review the Association’s Bylaws, which have a more detailed description of positions, starting on page 13. You can also contact the person currently in the position you’re interested in with additional questions.

Election Process 

Each candidate will submit the following via email to past-president@nwacuho.org: an institutional support form, letter of interest to be sent to voting members, and resume. 

The vote will be held with each institutional member in Alberta allowed one vote, cast via email. The candidate with the most votes will be the winner. In the event two candidates tie for the most votes, those two candidates will take part in a runoff election until one candidate has received the most votes.

Elections Timeline:

  • Wednesday February 22nd: Call for candidates
  • Friday March 3rd: Applications from candidates due
  • Monday March 6th: Send candidate information to voting members in Alberta
  • Friday March 10th: Tally votes

All application materials must be submitted via email to past-pres@nwacuho.org by 11:59pm PST on March 3rd, 2017. Additionally, all questions can be directed to the Past-President at past-pres@nwacuho.org. When submitting materials, please make sure the institutional support form is included.

What are the attendance requirements to run for a position?

As per the Institutional Support Form, you need to be present at Board Meetings May 15-17, 2017 (Bend, OR), October 9-11, 2017 (Victoria, British Columbia), February 10-15, 2018 (Victoria, British Columbia, Board Meeting and Annual Conference). This position spends an average of 1-3 hours per week on NWACUHO business, including meetings.

Do I need to include a reference or support letter from my supervisor or my institution?

No. The institutional support form is accepted in the place of a letter of reference or support from your institution. The institutional support form outlines both time and financial commitments of serving on the board of directors.
