PRIMARY PURPOSE:


The Resident Director (RD) is a 12-month live-in professional staff position that works closely with the Housing Coordinator and Director of Student Life to ensure a quality living environment for on-campus students based on an academic success theme.  In addition to collaborating with other members of the Student Life staff, the Resident Director supervises a Resident Assistant (RA) staff, with the goal of providing a supportive environment where students can live and learn. The RD must be committed to providing students with the tools they need to experience personal growth and to helping students create a sense of community.


 

QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS:

1.     Bachelor’s degree

2.     Minimum one year of residence life experience.

3.     Must have skills and experience working with diverse populations.

Residence Director, Saint Martin’s University

The Residence Director is responsible for creating a supportive residential living environment that promotes the values and practice of Catholic, Benedictine living. As an engaged member of the community, the RD serves as a supervisor, mentor, resource person, and role-model. The RD is responsible for the day-to-day operations of one to three residence halls, supervising 5 to 10 Resident Assistants. This position also is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the summer conference housing program and supervision of Conference Assistants. Residence Director is a 12-month position and the RD must live in a residence hall apartment.

Leasing & Conference Coordinator, SAIT Residence, Canadian Campus Communities

Position: Leasing and Conference Coordinator

Full time, non exempt from overtime

Summary:

Canadian Campus Communities (CCC) holds the Leasing & Conference Coordinator responsible for the primary objective of leasing all available residential space throughout the year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

Management of Leasing Operations

  • Perform all accountabilities in a timely and efficient manner
  • Recommend/Implement corrective action on service, presentation, organization, and productivity
  • Project a favourable image of the community to achieve objectives and public recognition
  • Adhere to standards and comply with: corporate procedures, government laws on Fair Housing, and all inspections of the facility

Leasing Operations

  • Generate traffic of prospective customers by designing advertisements for periodicals, direct mailers, follow up letters, telemarketing campaigns, in-house programs, etc.
  • Conduct all functions necessary to close the sale, including making appointments, generating new leads, conducting tours, maintaining show rooms, and any follow-up necessary
  • Regularly complete market surveys, including university and local marketing conditions
  • Conduct all functions necessary to maximize revenue during the summer, including leasing all space, coordinating with other departments, etc.
  • Perform after hours duties as needed (i.e., attend student functions, PR events, etc.)
  • Develop ideas to retain residents while organizing revenue
  • Coordinate assigning of rooms, matching roommates, minimizing changes
  • Place customer needs, requests, and follow-up as a number one priority
  • Assist in coordinating summer conference and hotel rentals.

Personnel

  • Assist the Assistant General Manager with the supervision of the leasing staff, including hiring, training, termination, development, evaluation, and rewards
  • Maintain daily contact with staff and meetings as appropriate

Administration of Leasing Operations

§ Assist, gather, and/or compile information for requested reports

§ Complete all necessary paperwork for move-in, check-out, and other peak periods

§ Process all paperwork associated with generating a lease in a timely fashion

§ Assist in corporate projects as requested

Financial Management

  • Maximize revenue along with maximizing occupancy
  • Assist in collecting outstanding rents, security deposits, or other income as necessary
  • Assist with any accounts receivable payments and follow-up as needed

Reasoning Ability:

Computer Skills:

Summary:

Canadian Campus Communities (CCC) holds the Assistant General Manager responsible for assisting the General Manager (GM) with the entire operation and outcome of an apartment community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

Life Safety of Employees and Residents

  • Live on-site, being available for after hours on-call response (to be coordinated and shared with second AGM).

Personnel

  • For one building, responsible for supervision of the Desk Assistant Staff, Community Assistant staff,  Leasing and Conference Coordinator, leasing staff and including hiring, training, termination, development, evaluation, and rewards
  • Indirectly supervise all CCC on-site staff including DA, Leasing, Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Accounting.
  • Maintain daily contact with staff and meetings as appropriate
  • Provide para-professional staff with career development opportunities
  • Assist with all business functions related to operations
  • Attend weekly meetings, walkthroughs, and inspections

Administration of Leasing Operations

  • Serve as CCC representative and liaison in all interactions
  • Assist in corporate projects as requested
  • Serve as Public Relations representative to all interested parties
  • Assist with conferences, hiring employees, etc. as requested
  • Other duties as assigned

The Resident Director (RD) is a 52 week live-in, professional responsible for the overall administration of one or more residence halls housing 200-500 students. The Resident Director supervises undergraduate students in creating safe, caring, and inclusive communities by demonstrating safe, caring, and inclusive supervision, community development, student development, leadership development, administration, and departmental responsibilities. Typically, an Assistant Director supervises the Resident Director.

The Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) is a full time live-in professional who plays a pivotal role in the Residence Life Program. They supervise the day-to-day operations of an assigned residence community, while fostering a positive environment for student transitions. The RLC reports to the Assistant Manager of Residence Services and is responsible for the overall organization and implementation of the Residence Life Program. This includes, but is not limited to:

DUTIES:

· Direct student and community development based on the values and mission statement of Residence Services

University Housing at the University of Oregon is now accepting applications for the position of Complex Director. This is a full-time, live-in, 12-month, Officer of Administration position. The starting date for the position is flexible beginning July 1, 2010.

 

General Duties: The Complex Director is responsible for the overall administration of a residence hall complex consisting of 375-800 residents. The Complex Director is also responsible for the selection, supervision and training of 9-20 residence life student staff and is expected to lead the student staff in the goal setting process, coordinate the student conduct process, support residence hall learning communities, exhibit a commitment to work with a diverse student population and create a culturally-inclusive living community, participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency situations, facilitate programming and community development, and advise student government. The successful candidate should demonstrate solid administrative skills and leadership experiences as well as the ability to work effectively with students, parents, co-workers, supervisor, department staff, and University staff from diverse backgrounds. The Complex Director may also supervise a full-time Assistant Complex Director. The Complex Director reports to the Associate Director of Residence Life for Resident Education.

 

Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree or a combination of a Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of full-time, professional experience in Student Affairs is required

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to candidates with Master’s degree in Higher Education or related fields.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with full-time experience in housing or group living environments.

 

Compensation: The remuneration for the position is based on qualifications and expertise and ranges from $29,000 to $35,000 plus a furnished apartment, meal plan during the time the halls are open, and Officer of Administration benefits, including medical insurance, retirement, and reduced tuition.
