Position Purpose
The Assistant Director for Residential Life is responsible for facilitating the creation of an inclusive, purposeful, and secure residential community supporting the learning mission of The Evergreen State College (Evergreen) and enhancing residents’ academic and personal development. This position is responsible for residential life student and professional staff recruitment, selection and training. This position is responsible for the crisis management, policy development and implementation, room assignment and management process, and the coordination of a comprehensive student judicial process in residence life. This position has lead authority in Residential and Dining Services (RAD), the Case Management and Care Coordination (CARE), and directs appropriate case management and College response The Assistant Director acts on the behalf of the Director in all functions in their absence and at their request.

This is a full-time, overtime-exempt position on the Olympia campus of The Evergreen State College. This is an “at-will” appointment, exempt from Washington State Civil Service rules and the Fair Labor Standards Act overtime requirements.

Salary and Benefits: $5,382 – $5,714 per month of full-time work + excellent benefits including paid sick and vacation leave; paid campus holidays; a generous medical, dental, life and disability insurance package; and a tuition waiver program. A small meal plan is included as well.
