Seeking a Communications & Marketing Operations Manager!

We’d be excited if our next communication and marketing operations manager has experience in marketing operations, customer service, fiscal and systems management and leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations and Customer Service

  • Anticipate changing unit operations needs and implement continuous analysis to support process transformation and demonstrate operational efficiencies
  • Identify ways to maximize use of data in support of key activities
  • Document and analyze unit’s activities and trends, and compare against best practices
  • Define, develop and implement quality assurance programs
  • Identify root causes for problems and create sound cases for resolution
  • Ensure workflows support team members
  • Assess opportunities to add or modify systems and processes to increase the value of services, and present recommendations to unit leader
  • Assist in the coordination of information gathering and analysis regarding the student and customer experience to inform programmatic efforts, such as through surveys, market research and focus groups.
  • Develop methods for assessing and reporting Communication & Marketing’s internal customer needs and satisfaction on an ongoing basis, in order to align work with the Department’s goals and needs.
  • Document, organize and communicate Communication & Marketing processes and procedures.
  • Provide project queue traffic management in order to ensure efficient assignment of projects, clear communication with clients, tracking of milestones and completion of deliverables.

Fiscal and Systems Management

  • Provide support for systems used by the Communication & Marketing team.
  • Maintain and monitor assigned budgets.

Leadership

  • Serve as a process and project management expert and resource to the Communication & Marketing team.
  • Manage projects from inception to completion.
  • Represent Communication & Marketing and HFS Department interests on cross-functional teams, Departmental committees and work groups.

Supervision

  • Provide direct supervision, evaluation of work and guidance of the Communications and Marketing Program Coordinator and assigned student staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, business or a related field and 3-5 years of related experience, either in an academic or production environment.
  • Experience that demonstrates:
  • Excellent administrative, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in managing multiple tasks and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Technical and workflow systems expertise, and familiarity with user-centered design.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Clear and concise written communication.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Working knowledge of systems used by communications and marketing teams, such as online project management and website content management systems.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may substitute for required qualifications.

Condition of Employment:

This position will work a schedule 8 a.m.—5 p.m., Monday—Friday; however, this position will occasionally be required to participate in events outside of regular office hours.

The salary range is $60,000 to $70,000 annually + benefits.
